Hub City Business Competition

The Hub City Business Competition is hosted by the Entrepreneur Council of Washington County to bring local entrepreneurs to the stage to pitch their business idea to win cash and prizes. We invite you to attend this FREE event to hear the selected entrepreneurs pitch their idea. Audience members will have a chance to vote and select their favorite pitch. This year’s finalists are:

Our judges are:

Christine Adamow, a seasoned executive and serial entrepreneur.  She has held the office of President for three software start-up ventures and one publicly traded medical service company.  Other Wall Street experience includes, executive management positions at Alexander & Alexander, an international insurance brokerage and risk management firm and US Trust, where she was an institutional banking officer with asset management and lending authority.

 

Mark Greathouse is the managing director of Mid-Atlantic Angels, LLC, a private equity investment group headquartered in Frederick, MD that features a portfolio representing $1.4 million of investment in seven ventures.  He is also president of GTG Solutions, LLC, a professional services firm specializing in business planning, marketing, and executive coaching.  Greathouse is an online venture capitalization pioneer and serial entrepreneur who has guided teams through hundreds of decisions involving investing money and time.

Neil Davis serves as TEDCO’s Director of Entrepreneurial Development. In this role, he manages major elements of TEDCO’s Gateway Services Initiative – the mdPACE Program, the Gateway Services Program (Loaned Executives, Gateway Executives, Gateway Advisors, Executive Coaches, and Executive Roundtables), and the Rural Business Innovation Initiative.  Neil is also the Organization’s liaison with the State’s technology incubators, is part of the TEDCO’s seed investment team, and is actively involved in creating new strategies designed to assist entrepreneurs, including the development of educational programming for TEDCO’s portfolio companies.  He brings more than 30 years of experience in engineering, business development, business consulting, and P&L management.
